CHEESE FACTORY
Near Urnobitza mount in ELGOIBAR, is the Mausitxa cheese factory. Its black-faced latxas sheep graze in the surrounding fields, feeding the herb that gives the flavor to the cheese made by the Ansola family. In this wonderful place, surrounded by forest, mountains and fields, we tell you in first person the ins and outs of the cheesemaker’s trade.
In Mausitxa, they have preserved, over time, the artisan tradition of making cheese and the essence of their trade. In Mausitxa this cheese factory offers the visitor an open vision about cheese making. After the visit they offered a tasting. You can arrive by car to the factory or leave the car parked at the junction.
